Kindred Spirits Pets (“we”, “us”) handles personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how you can access or correct it.
What we collect
- Contact details: your name, phone number, email address and the address where we collect your pet or deliver the ashes.
- Details about your pet: name, species, breed and weight, and any health information you choose to share with us.
- Payment details: handled by our payment providers. We do not store full card numbers.
- Our conversations: records of calls, emails and messages about your service.
How we collect it
Directly from you by phone, email or the message form on this website, and from your vet clinic when you ask us to collect your pet from them.
Why we use it
- To arrange the collection, cremation and return of your pet’s ashes
- To reply to your messages and questions
- To issue invoices and take payment
- To meet our legal obligations
We do not use your details for marketing unless you ask us to, and we never sell or rent personal information.
Who we share it with
Only with the people who help us provide the service, such as the crematorium, delivery partners and payment providers, with our professional advisers when needed, and with government authorities when the law requires it.
Information stored outside Australia
This website, including the message form, is hosted by a provider in the European Union, so details you send through the form are processed on servers outside Australia. We take reasonable steps to make sure our providers protect your information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.
Cookies and tracking
Our website does not set cookies and does not use analytics or advertising trackers. Fonts and images are served from our own website. Like any website, our hosting provider keeps short-term server logs (such as IP addresses) for security.
Some pages include a map provided by Google Maps. When the map loads, Google may set its own cookies and collect information under Google’s privacy policy.
To know which pages help families reach us, we count clicks on our phone and email links and messages sent through the form. We record only the date, the type of action and the page. We do not record IP addresses or anything that identifies you.
Keeping information safe
We use encrypted connections on this website, limit who can see your information and keep records only as long as we need them for the purposes above or as the law requires. After that we delete or de-identify them.
Access and correction
You can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it. Contact us using the details below and we will respond within 30 days.
Data breaches
If a data breach is likely to cause you serious harm, we will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as required by the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
